NURHAK DISTRICT OF KAHRAMANMARAŞ PROVINCE IN TURKEY:
In Nurhak district of Kahramanmaras, we have about 1,5 million tons of reserve bauxite sites in which we have continued production since 2015. We have 200,000 tons of production capacity per year in this field. It has about 1,5 million tons of reserves. In our Kahramanmaraş province, Nurhak has a copper mine site with rare elements and valuable mines, and our R&D work continues on these sites.
AKSEKİ DISTRICT OF ANTALYA PROVINCE IN TURKEY:
We have 4 different bauxite mine sites in Akseki district of Antalya. Currently, we have 2 mining sites in operation. One of the fields where we did not start production will be operational in 2021 and the other in 2022. The approximate reserve of our active fields is 4 million tons and there are bohmite-weighted ores in these fields. Al₂O₃ value is 68% in places. SiO₂ is around 2% on average.
Bauxite Mine: Bauxite is a natural resource which consists of several hydro aluminum oxide minerals like boehmite, gibbsite and diaspore. Bauxite is mostly white or grey and sometimes red or yellow. It nearly looks like soil. There are two different bauxite ores according to their formations.
The first one is named silicate bauxite and it mostly can be seen on tropical areas.
The second type is Karst-Bauxite and can be seen on France, Greece, Balkans and Seydişehir / Turkey.
Bauxite is used in various industrial areas. The area which they are being used is dependent on their chemical formulations.
1. %90 of alumina and aluminum is produced from bauxite. With metallic aluminum, also products like gallium and vanadium can be produced from bauxite too.
2. Refractory products which is produced from bauxite:
3. Chemicals that are made from bauxite:
4. Abrasives that are made from bauxite:
